    About Jörn Gieschen

    Jörn understands global tourism from two different perspectives, having worked at worldwide leading organisations both in the tourism industry and in tourism consulting.

    From 2007 to 2011 Jörn was Director of Destination Strategy & Marketing at THR International Tourism Consultants, based in Barcelona, Spain. He led a multi-cultural team and projects in areas as Marketing Planning, Product Innovation, Country and Corporate Branding, Business Model Reengineering, etc. for both public and private sector organisations in countries all around the world.

    Prior to that Jörn was Senior Manager Corporate Development at TUI AG, Germany, the world’s largest tourism group. During his 5 years there he helped to continously develop the Corporate Strategy of the group, led various international projects and specialized in Corporate Destination Strategy & Marketing. Already at TUI it was the creative side of destination, product, and organisation development making his heart beat faster. Jörn is winner of a TUI Group worldwide tourism innovation competition.

    Since 2011 he continues to follow his passion for making tourism destinations and organisations more competitive as a freelance expert. Under his brand Tourimpax (www.tourimpax.com) he has been consulting destinations & companies, and keeps spreading his know-how as internationally booked speaker at tourism events & conferences (e.g. @ UNWTO, PATA, ITB, FITUR, MITT, EIAT, etc.). Besides that, he is engaged in a few own and third party tourism start-ups, soon to be launched global travel, tourism, and hospitality consultant sourcing service Tourismbrains (www.tourismbrains.com) being the major one. Last but not least, he enjoys lecturing and giving workshops at various universities on tourism and career topics on a regular basis. Jörn holds degrees in International Business from universities in Münster/Germany and Rotterdam/The Netherlands and his base in Bremen, Germany.
